MOMOS and ÄOL are demonstrations of the concept of "white box design" I developed for my bachelor's thesis. Anyone can use them. But those who need to repair or appropriately dispose of the devices can easily take them apart (or if they're just curious what's inside). The disassembly process is hardwired into the construction, guiding the user through the steps of taking it apart. This lowers the barrier for understanding and therefore maintaining and repairing the product.
